Paul (Pablo) Chang: refined reflections of splendid tropical nature
Though living and working in Miami his painting is undeniably South American and exhibited as such, hence the name Pablo Chang. Chang’s paintings reflect the natural beauty of Suriname. The respect and love for her splendid nature grew while studying art abroad. The energy, the indications and signs that majestic trees seem to form when the winds are blowing through them, are transformed by Chang in flowing colored impressions and refined outbursts consisting of pigment catch the beauty and drama of nature in oil on canvas. Chang does this in clever compositions, also seen in his natural still life paintings with calculated, contrasting colors. In his impressionistic style and sun splashed colors his landscapes visualize the rainforest with colorful trees in full bloom, or autumn-like trees in contrasting color combinations with the sand and calm, cool looking water on different paintings.
