This artwork features portraits of people who, just like the artist, were born Alakondre. The emphasis therefore, is not on clearly recognizable ethnicities, but simply on a variety of faces in random colors. Because according to René, we should never focus on the things that differentiate us, but on the things that unite us; on the fact that all of us together form one Surinamese nation.
