Hanka Wolterstorff is driven by the urge to create something she considers beautiful. Influenced largely by the tropical nature that surrounds her, Suriname is inadvertently interwoven into every composition that she intuitively creates. Her organic ceramic sculptures can be either bold and exuberant, delicate and almost fragile, and sometimes like the artist herself, modest and with a beauty led by a graceful simplicity.
