For this exhibition Reinier Asmoredjo was motivated completely by the concept of Alakondre. “A mixture consisting of various cultures, subsequently poured into one entity!” To the artist, the woman in this painting symbolizes the continuation of life on this earth. He deliberately made this work very colorful to indicate that the ‘Alakondre mama’ is responsible for the entire big Surinamese ‘bromki-dyari’ (flower garden).
